As a part of observing the world diabetes day on the 14th of November, Chaithanya eye hospital cochin has planned to conduct a s diabetic retinopathy screening camp on 14th and 15th of November.

Himalayan Institute is located in the foot hills of the himalayas. We are a non profitable, post graduate medical research centre. Department of Community Medicine will be organizing the following activities to promote World Diabetes Day 2009:

Awareness about Diabetes for fresh medical and nursing students, awareness and prevention of diabetes for the attendants of indoor patients, a role play depiciting diabetes etiology and prevention etc.

The Calicut forum for Diabetes is an association of health professionals interested in care of patients who suffer from Diabetes. The main objective of the association is to advance the academic standards of care-givers in diabetes and to increase the awareness of the patients regarding the long term repercussions of untreated DM

The association is planning to conduct a Diabetes Awareness Exhibition Cum Free Diabetes Detection Camp on 14th December of 2009 in connection with world diabetes day 2009 .

The exhibition will be arranged by the nursing students from JDT College and school of nursing along with technical support from Calicut Forum for Diabetes and Miss.Shilpa, MSW trainee, Bhavans Arts and science. The exhibition will be inaugurated by a popular figure in the district. Articles on the importance of diabetes prevention will be published in print Medias. We will seek help from television channels and FM radios to get maximum coverage of the event

House to house survey of the population for the detection,prevention & education.The detected patients are brought to the base hospital to manage further.We need some help to make it free.At present we will be charging for the strip.

World Diabetes Day will be celebrated at KOLKATA, the provincial capital of the eastern Indian state of West Bengal, India, on Nov14,2009, through a daylong program. The program will be held at MEDICAL COLLEGE, the oldest medical school in the whole of Asia which incidentally will be observing its 175th aniversary in 2010.
The program will start with a WALKATHON in which people from all walks of life are expected to take part.
There will be scientific programs for the physicians and health care professionals,educational programs for nurses and patients and free investigation services for patients.
Admittance to the program will be complimentary both for patients and health care professionals.
As a part of World Diabetes Day Monument Challenge, it is being planned to lit up the heritage MCH building of Medical College, an imposing structure of Gothic architectural marvel, in blue,the logistics of which are being worked out.
The host organizations fervently appeal to all to join in the walk for diabetes which will commence at 08:00h IST. Elbit Medical Diagnostics, Hyderabad, Diabetology Unit is organizing Diabetes Education, Awareness, Run( DEAR) to mark World Diabetes Day 2009.

The Main objective of the event is to :

* Diabetes education - in preventing diabetes complications
* Media promotions thtough local channels/newspapers

In addition , the building of Elbit Medical Diagnostics ,Banjara Hills,in Hyderabad will light up in blue on 14th Nov 2009.
