“ Apple- shaped” bodies (which have more fat accumulation at the waist- line) are more prone to the above mentioned disorders than “Pear- shaped” bodies (which have more fat accumulated at the hip- line). It has been proved that W-HR measurement along with the BMI is a better risk predictor than BMI alone.
